Why somatic practices?

Our nervous system communicates via emotions and somatic sensations, not through language. Trauma and emotions can become stuck & stagnant in the body.

Somatic practices help us to process emotions, release stress & trauma & regulate our nervous systems & by using body based, somatic practices we can release and heal while creating more resilience and safety in our bodies.

Some common signs of nervous system dysregulation are:

- Anxiety, stress & panic

- Anger & irritability often; feeling like little things set you off

- Feeling low, stuck & unmotivated

- Dissociation/lack of presence in your life - you feel like you're on auto-pilot

Not only that, but the physical symptoms we carry can indicate if we have stored trauma or dysregulation in the body; a tight chest, digestive and tummy issues, headaches, brain fog, chronic aches and pains, trouble sleeping, feeling spacey, nausea, a tight throat...

In this course you will learn...

  • an extensive range of somatic practices backed by science & derived from: 
    - Polyvagal theory
    - Somatic therapies
    - Yin yoga
    - Mindfulness & meditation 
    - EMDR

All of the practices are trauma informed, gentle, nurturing and self-paced.

This course is structured into daily practices. You can practice one per day (and the course will take 30 days) or you can spread them out for as long as you like. 


Most of the practices are less than 10 minutes, and all are under 20 minutes.

Hi, i'm Becks...

I'm a qualified counsellor, a coach, a 6 x best-selling author & illustrator and the founder of Journey to Wellness.
