As a child I grew up surround by anxiety & experiencing it myself.​
In 2015 (some years into my work as a counsellor) I was awaiting diagnosis of a pituitary tumour and I had my first panic attack. I continued to have them - any time I faced a situation under pressure; public speaking, meetings with my boss... WHAM - there I was; desperate to escape, heart pounding out of my chest, mind racing, gripped by fear...

I had done 4 years of training in counselling & found myself in the thick of needing the very tools I used with clients. BUT... I found that the mindset-only-approach to overcoming anxiety just wasn't cutting it for me. I knew what to do - I knew the logic behind it all. So why was I not able to shake the constant anxiety? The feeling of butterflies, a tight chest, waking up anxious, swimming in self-doubt, scanning my body all the time, waiting for my next panic & avoiding more & more things in my life...

I decided I was my own perfect case study - I went on to specialise in anxiety - deep diving into post graduate training and then even more training in nervous system regulation & somatic work. I found the missing pieces of the puzzle. The stuff that most counsellors aren't teaching. The stuff I (& my clients) needed.
