What is nervous system dysregulation?

If you're experiencing a lot of anxiety, chronic stress, simmering anger, feeling depressed or low, feeling stuck or swinging between feeling highly strung and burnout then you are probably experiencing a dysregulated nervous system.

Here are some other red flags of a nervous system in need of some healing:

  • You've had chronic physical symptoms, like back or neck pain, brain fog, fatigue, bloating, digestive complaints, nausea, teeth grinding or poor sleep.

  • You get overloaded by too much noise, strong smells, lights or textures

  • You feel like you're at capacity, life just feels like it's getting on top of you

  • You feel stuck, you're flat and you can't seem to get out of a funk - when you get home you can't seem to get out of the car and after a shower you sit in your towel staring at the wall

  • You're engaging in numbing behaviours trying to regulate yourself; doom scrolling, binge-watching TV shows, online shopping, alcohol, binge eating sugary or salty foods at night
